From IES Officer to Founder, Costimator.
I'm Kushal, the founder of Costimator. I originally built the platform while serving as an Executive Engineer at CPWD to solve a problem I faced daily: existing tools for estimation, justification, and market rate analysis simply didn't align with the realities of tendering projects. What started as a personal utility quickly gained organic traction among my peers. By 2025, the demand was so clear that I left the Indian Engineering Services (IES) to focus on Costimator full-time. Today, hundreds of engineers use it across estimation, justification, and tender preparation.

Is my department supported?
CPWD DSR/DAR is fully live today. Indian Railways USSoR is live. MoRTH SoR/AoR, Karnataka SoR/AoR, and UP Irrigation SoR are all in active development with confirmed timelines.

What if I need help during the trial or after I sign up?
Trial users get email support with 24-hour response. Pro and Diamond users also get phone support at +91 9458120296 during business hours.
We're a small team and we read every email — you won't get a chatbot or a ticketing-system runaround.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Your estimates, projects, and rate analyses are stored on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure with daily backups.
We use Row Level Security (RLS) to enforce that only you can access your data — every query is filtered by your authenticated identity, with no exceptions. Costimator is built and operated within India. We don't share project data with third parties, ever.
How often do you update SoRs and rates?
When CPWD, Railways, MoRTH, or any supported authority publishes a new circular, schedule, or methodology update, we apply it within days — usually faster. You don't need to track changes yourself; the platform stays current automatically.
Costimator users are working with the latest official rates by default, not the rates that were current when they last downloaded a PDF.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes — Pro users can upgrade to Diamond within their first 14 days at a prorated cost. After that, upgrades happen at renewal.
Plan downgrades from Diamond to Pro happen at renewal as well. Switching the department covered by your Pro plan mid-year isn't supported, but you can change at renewal.
Do I need to install anything? Does it work on Windows / Mac / Linux?
No installation. Costimator is fully web-based — all you need is a browser and an internet connection. Because of that, it works seamlessly across Windows, Mac, Linux, and ChromeOS.
No setup. No dongles. No version-locked desktop apps.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your trial data is preserved for 14 days after expiry — upgrade within that window and continue exactly where you left off. For paid plans, data is preserved for 30 days after subscription end, after which it's deleted.
You can export all your estimates as Excel at any time — your work is portable, never locked in.
